Only if the need for business continuity is namesake driven, can the Public Sector virtualize for namesake. The public sector, similar to the private sector, operates on a certain budget that is allocated to its various functional wings (bodies/commissions/agencies/institutions) with certain year-end production and revenue-generation goals. And therefore, efficient resource management, both technical and non-technical in nature, is as much a concern of a public sector institution as it is of a private sector setup. Enterprise technology vendors should ideally then skew their market expansion plans towards the public sector bodies/government agencies first and then move towards the private sector.
